We're hiring a founding mobile & native engineer to bring Bond beyond the browser — transforming our AI Chief of Staff into a native experience on mobile and desktop that feels like it was built for your pocket and your dock. You'll work directly with the founders and own the entire native layer from day one.

Even the best teams spend countless hours chasing updates, untangling loose threads, and sitting in status meetings, only to find the data they need is buried in a silo.

We're building a system that understands what's happening across a company and tells leaders what truly deserves their time. You don't just save a few hours. You change how companies operate. This is a new layer of infrastructure. Whoever solves this becomes the operating system for modern organizations. This is a generational engineering problem: massive data ingestion, state modeling, prioritization logic, real-time inference, and agentic action loops.

And nobody has cracked it.

Backed by Y Combinator, Fellows Fund, Goodwater Capital, and E14, we are building the intelligence layer that connects these dots automatically. We have raised our seed round and are now expanding our engineering team.

What You'll Do

Make Bond live where executives live: Executives don't sit at desks all day. They're between meetings, in cars, on planes. You will build the native app that puts Bond's daily briefing, AI assistant, and action items on their phone — instantly accessible, always fresh, and fast enough that it replaces the morning email scroll.

Build a native chat experience with streaming AI: BondBot is our conversational AI agent. On the web it already streams responses token-by-token, supports voice input with waveform visualization, and displays real-time tool activity as the agent searches Slack, triages Linear issues, and manages todos. You will rebuild this as a native experience — with the responsiveness, gesture support, and polish that users expect from iMessage or WhatsApp, not a webview.

Own real-time infrastructure on native: Our platform runs on Server-Sent Events for live updates — new todos appearing, briefing sections loading, watchlist alerts firing. Mobile OS's kill background connections aggressively. You will solve the hard problem of keeping a native app in sync: background fetch, push notifications, graceful reconnection, and offline-first patterns that make Bond feel alive even with spotty connectivity.

Ship the briefing as a native surface: Every morning, Bond generates a personalized executive briefing with meeting prep, priority updates, action items, and needs-reply messages — all backed by evidence from 15+ platforms. You will build the native views that make this feel like a premium reading experience: smooth transitions, platform-specific evidence cards, and interaction patterns that let executives triage their morning in minutes.

Bring Bond to the desktop dock: Beyond mobile, you will explore bringing Bond to macOS and Windows as a native desktop app — keyboard-driven, always-on, and deeply integrated with the OS. Think: a command-palette for your company, a menu bar briefing, or a native notification center that actually knows what matters.

Who You Are

3+ years of native app development (iOS, Android, or cross-platform), or a proven history of "high slope" engineering (you ship polished apps as side projects and obsess over frame drops).

Native-first thinker: You instinctively know what belongs in a webview and what needs to be truly native. You understand platform conventions — iOS and Android don't just look different, they feel different — and you build accordingly.

Real-time systems builder: You've dealt with the hard parts of mobile real-time: background connection management, push notification infrastructure, optimistic updates, offline queues, and sync conflicts. You know that "just use WebSockets" isn't an answer on iOS.

Streaming & media experience: Our AI assistant streams responses and supports voice input with waveform rendering. You are comfortable with streaming protocols, audio APIs, and building chat interfaces that feel fluid at every network speed.

Design-obsessed engineer: You care about the 60fps scroll, the haptic on completion, the gesture that saves a tap. You understand that for an executive product, polish isn't a nice-to-have — it's the product.

Pragmatic & low ego: You step up in incidents to unblock teammates. You believe the best idea wins, not the loudest voice. You can make the hard tradeoff between shipping a hybrid solution now and building native later.

Product mindset: You don't just port screens from web to mobile; you rethink the experience for the platform. The briefing on a phone at 7am while commuting is fundamentally different from the briefing on a laptop at a desk. You design for the moment, not the spec.

Startup ready: You are autonomous, ownership-driven, and able to navigate ambiguity. You don't wait for Figma files. You prototype, ship, measure, and iterate.

Global communicator: You are proactive and reliable, capable of coordinating effectively between our Ghent and our San Francisco presence.

Driven: You are ready to make this your life's work.

The Bond Offer

Ghent Roots, Silicon Valley Access: You will work out of the Wintercircus in the beautiful city center of Ghent. We regularly travel to San Francisco to work with our Co-Founder & CEO, investors, clients and partners. You are expected to join us. This is your ticket to the global tech ecosystem.

Competitive Pay: $100k – 140k / year. We aim to pay top-tier rates for the Belgian market.

Ownership: 0.50% – 1% Equity. You are a builder, and you should own what you build.
